Engine Overview and Common Failures

The TPWA engine weighs 140 kg according to the catalog. The TPWA engine number is located at the back, at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Components of the direct injection system often fail due to poor fuel quality. In the early years of production, there were cases of piston damage due to detonation. The exhaust manifold frequently cracks, and its fragments can damage the turbine. Phase regulator couplings become misaligned after the use of non-original oil. Many owners have experienced oil leaks from the rear crankshaft seal.
