Engine Overview and Common Failures

The CFBA engine weighs 125 kg according to the catalog. The Ford CFBA engine number is located at the back, at the junction of the engine and the gearbox. Due to the presence of a direct injection system, this engine is sensitive to fuel quality. For the same reason, the intake valves quickly become clogged with carbon deposits and compression drops. The fuel filter in the tank gets clogged from low-quality gasoline and the fuel pump fails. Valve cover leaks are quite common here, and oil seeps into the spark plug wells. The timing chain may need replacement around 200-250 thousand kilometers of mileage.
