Engine Overview and Common Failures

The BSF engine number is located at the front, where the engine meets the gearbox. It is a simple and reliable engine that does not cause major problems for owners. The fluctuating RPM is often caused by a clogged fuel pump mesh and air leaks. Cracks in the ignition coil and oxidation of its contacts are also frequently found here. Pay close attention to the condition of the timing belt, as valve damage can occur if it breaks. On high mileage, the engine often consumes oil due to worn rings and valve stem seals.
