Engine Overview and Common Failures

The ARM engine number is located on the right, at the junction of the engine and transmission. It is a very reliable and durable unit, and breakdowns occur at high mileage. The culprit for power loss is the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. Air leaks or failures of the intake manifold runner control can also cause unstable operation. The mechanism for changing the intake geometry is not very reliable here. After 200,000 km, the engine starts to consume oil due to ring and valve seal wear.
