Engine Overview and Common Failures

This engine is rightfully considered one of the most reliable in its class and rarely breaks down. The usual cause of unstable operation is contamination of the fuel system or sensor malfunctions. Some components of the ignition system often fail here as well. The timing belt is changed every 90,000 km, and in case of a valve failure, it usually doesn't bend. After 200,000 km of mileage, excessive oil consumption and hydraulic lifter noises are often encountered.
