Engine Overview and Common Failures

Savings on fuel and oils often lead to the formation of scoring. Many engine problems are related to coking due to direct injection systems. Timing chains can stretch up to 200,000 km and their replacement is complex and expensive. The plastic intake manifold often develops cracks and loses its seal. Other weak points of this engine include the oil separator and ignition coils.
