Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the engine 198A5000 according to the catalog is 185 kg. The engine number 198A5000 is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. It often happens that the bearings rotate due to a decrease in the performance of the oil pump. The usual cause is wear of the pump gasket, which starts to let in air. The turbine lasts a long time here, but the intake pipe for the turbocharged air often breaks. Closer to 100,000 km, all the gaskets dry out and leaks of lubricant and antifreeze begin. As with many diesel engines, the soot filter and EGR valve cause regular trouble.
