The engine weight of the HWDA according to the catalog is 105 kg. The Ford HWDA engine number is located at the front, at the junction with the gearbox. The Duratec series power units are quite reliable but they cannot tolerate poor fuel. Spark plugs do not last long with low-quality gasoline, sometimes not more than 10,000 km. Expensive fuel pump often fails for the same reason. European modifications of the Duratec engines with timing belt failure put pressure on the valves. There are no hydraulic compensators here and the valves will have to be adjusted every 100,000 km.

1.5-liter engine Ford M8DA or Focus 3 1.5 EcoBoost was produced from 2014 to 2019 as a replacement for the previous 1.6-liter engine in models such as the Focus and C-MAX.
