Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EDDC engine according to the catalog is 140 kg. The EDDC engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine is quite demanding in terms of fuel quality and prefers 95 octane gasoline. If you fill the tank with anything, you may need to replace the fuel pump. Spark plugs also tend to fail quickly, so always keep a spare set. The aluminum engine oil pan hangs relatively low and is very easily deformed. Keep an eye on the condition of the timing belt, as it may require replacement at 60,000 km mileage.
