Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EDDB engine according to the catalog is 140 kg. The EDDB engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Zetek series engines are reliable, but they do not tolerate poor gasoline and it is better to use AI-95 fuel. Usually, the ignition spark plugs are the first to fail, sometimes lasting only 10,000 km. Often, expensive fuel pumps are damaged due to poor quality fuel. Keep an eye on the condition of the timing belt, in the European version, if it breaks, the valves will be bent. The aluminum engine oil pan is located quite low and it can easily get dented.
