Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the JTMA engine according to the catalog is 120 kg. The JTMA engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. In 2013 and 2017, engines in this series were subject to recalls due to fires. The advanced cooling system with an electromagnetic clutch was solely responsible for the issue. The fully aluminum engine is prone to overheating, causing a blown gasket or a damaged cylinder head. Components of the direct injection system can fail due to poor quality fuel. Engine noises under the hood indicate the need for valve clearance adjustment.
