Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the engine 1SZ-FE according to the catalog is 91 kg. The engine number 1SZ-FE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine is extremely sensitive to the quality and especially to the timing of oil changes. There can be chain jumping and valve-to-piston interference due to a stuck hydraulic tensioner. In severe frost and vice versa, heat, air intake into the intake manifold is possible. Due to the pump design, the oil takes a long time to circulate through the system after starting the engine. It is quite difficult to adjust the valves, as the entire drive cup needs to be replaced.
