Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the FUJA engine according to the catalog is 102 kg. The Ford FUJA engine number is located in the front at the junction with the gearbox. The engine does not tolerate bad fuel, here the spark plugs and their coils quickly wear out. The fuel pump filter gets clogged from poor quality gasoline and it fails. According to the regulations, the timing belt lasts 120,000 km, but often fails much faster. The thermostat and power unit cushions also have limited lifespan here. Valve adjustment is required every 100,000 km, as there are no hydraulic compensators.
