Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the CVMD engine according to the catalog is 190 kg. The CVMD engine number is located in the front, at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. In the early models, the camshafts were replaced under warranty due to noise under the hood. There have also been several cases of oil pump failure with mileage up to 50,000 km. All modern Common Rail systems with piezo injectors are sensitive to poor fuel quality. After 100 - 120 thousand km, there may be problems with the advanced EGR system. Closer to 250,000 km, there is a high risk of timing chain stretching, and their replacement is very expensive.
