Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the AAZ engine assembly is 155 kg. The AAZ engine number is located on the cylinder block. This diesel engine is most afraid of overheating, and its cylinder head often cracks. The second most common issue is fuel leaks through the injection pump gaskets. The timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 km or in case of valve failure. After 200-250 thousand kilometers, the turbocharger often starts consuming lubricant excessively. The main disadvantage of such engines is their age; finding a functioning one on the used market is difficult.
