Engine Overview and Common Failures

The most common cause of power failures is contamination and turbine geometry jamming. A clogged EGR valve can also be the culprit for unstable engine performance. If your oil pan is completely filled with oil, carefully inspect the lower flange of the VKG tube. The source of coolant leakage here is usually a plastic cooling tee. On high mileage vehicles, worn valve seat and compression loss are often encountered.
