Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the G6DJ engine assembly is 197 kg. The G6DJ engine number is located at the junction of the engine and the gearbox. First and foremost, GDi injection units suffer from carbon deposits on the intake valves. Piston ring sticking and subsequent oil consumption are also common issues here. Keep an eye on the cleanliness of the cooling system, as the aluminum block is prone to overheating. On high mileage, timing chains may stretch, and their replacement can be expensive. And don't forget to adjust the valve clearance, as there are no hydraulic lifters here.
