Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the G6AT engine according to the catalog is 169.3 kg. The G6AT engine number is located in front, at the junction of the engine and the gearbox. The engines of the first years of production had poor assembly quality and some parts were of low quality. Especially often, engines of this line failed due to inferior bearings. Then the quality improved and now these power units are only criticized for oil consumption. There are also many complaints on the forum about fluctuating revs due to throttle contamination. Weak points include short-lived hydraulic lifters and the ignition system.
