Engine Overview and Common Failures

The dry weight of the G6BV engine is 145 kg, with attachments it is 182 kg. The engine number G6BV is located at the junction of the engine and the gearbox. The intake here is equipped with shutters, and their bolts unscrew and fall into the cylinders. Occasionally, there is a belt slip issue due to the wedge of the hydraulic tensioner. There are quite a few complaints on the forum related to oil consumption, but this occurs after 200,000 km. The main cause of fluctuating RPM is throttle, MAF or injectors contamination. Weak points include sensors, hydraulic lifters, and ignition wires.
