Engine Overview and Common Failures

The dry weight of the G4HG engine according to the catalog is 84 kg. The G4HG engine number is located on the right at the junction with the gearbox. A known issue with the engine is a defective crankshaft, which was installed until 2009. It simply shears off the key, causing the gear to shift and the timing belt to misalign. Be sure to keep the radiators clean as the engine tends to overheat quickly and may lead to a blown head gasket. Idle engine speed often fluctuates due to throttle and ECU contamination. Weak points also include short lifespan spark plugs and unreliable wiring.
