Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the RTK engine according to the catalog is 170 kg. The RTK engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Operating this diesel engine in freezing temperatures is very difficult, sometimes it simply won't start. Usually, the engine breaks down after a timing belt failure, with a lifespan of less than 50,000 km. Due to weak cooling, there is a risk of valve and piston ring burnout in the fourth cylinder. This engine suffers from leaks, especially at the junction of the upper and lower parts of the block. Insufficient lubrication often leads to bearing rotation or crankshaft damage.
