Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the D6BA engine according to the catalog is 210 kg. The engine number D6BA is located on the joint with the front cover. Service technicians consider this engine to be not very reliable, but quite repairable. The Bosch VP-44 fuel pump is afraid of impurities in diesel fuel and often produces metal shavings. The products of its wear quickly clog the injectors, leading to frequent loss of power. The powerful double-row timing chain actually stretches after 100 - 150 thousand km of mileage. By 200,000 km, the connecting rods break the cylinder head and a characteristic knocking sound of the engine appears.
