Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the HCPA engine according to the catalog is 190 kg. The HCPA engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The Common Rail fuel system from Delphi is very demanding in terms of diesel fuel quality. It is necessary to strictly observe the interval for replacing filters and use only original ones. Otherwise, the engine may require an expensive overhaul, including the removal of the fuel pump, injectors, and even the tank. The crankshaft pulley damper and the camshaft position sensor have a modest lifespan. On long distances, injectors often start leaking, which leads to piston burning.
