Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the Q4BA engine according to the catalog is 215 kg. The engine number Q4BA is located at the junction of the block and the oil pan. This diesel is considered reliable, but very difficult to maintain and repair. The modern fuel system with piezo injectors does not tolerate poor quality fuel. Moreover, special equipment is required for dismantling the injectors by drilling them out. Owners face many issues with the temperamental dual turbocharging system. The remaining engine failures are related to the contamination of the EGR valve and the soot filter.
