Engine Overview and Common Failures

This engine is considered to be average in terms of reliability and, moreover, it is quite noisy. The main causes of fluctuating RPM are throttle or EGR clogging. Due to a faulty design, the oil receiver often gets clogged, which is dangerous for the engine. Timing belts have a low lifespan, and if at least one of them breaks, it can cause valve bending. There are also complaints online about oil leaks and rapid failure of ignition coils.
