Engine Overview and Common Failures

Most of the complaints online are related to power failures or fluctuating RPMs. The cause is usually found in the throttle assembly, EGR valve, or air intake. Keep an eye on the condition of the timing belts: they have a limited lifespan, and if they break, they can damage the valves. Dirty oil pickup often leads to a drop in engine lubrication pressure. The crankcase ventilation system often gets clogged, resulting in leaks from under the valve cover.
