Engine Overview and Common Failures

This power unit is simple and reliable, but it is not very convenient to service. The most well-known problem with the engine is oil leaks from under the valve cover. The timing belt is notorious for its unstable lifespan, and in case of a valve breakage, it always bends. The cause of fluctuating idle speed is usually throttle contamination. Owners often encounter ring deposits and excessive oil consumption at high mileage.
