Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine is rare, structurally complex, and there are few specialists to repair it. The units in this series are known for high fuel consumption, which eventually affects lubrication. The most problematic components are numerous sensors and crankcase ventilation. In second place is the frequent failure of the viscous clutch or serpentine belt. The timing chain has a lifespan of less than 200,000 km and requires engine removal for replacement.
