Engine Overview and Common Failures

This is a simple and reliable engine that only worries owners with small things. The main problems of this engine are related to failures of ignition system components. Also, the electrical system often malfunctions: usually the idle control valve or the DPKV fails. The timing belt has a lifespan of approximately 90,000 km, but does not bend in case of valve failure. After 250,000 km of mileage, piston rings often become stuck, leading to excessive oil consumption.
