Engine Overview and Common Failures

According to the CDHB engine catalog, the weight of the engine is 144 kg. The CDHB engine number is located at the junction with the gearbox. The whole life of the car owner with this engine is spent fighting oil consumption. The manufacturer has released several variations of pistons, and often their replacement helps. Due to constant oil burning, the internal parts of the engine quickly become covered in carbon deposits. One of the solutions to the oil consumption problem is to purchase forged pistons. Additionally, the timing chain here has a very short lifespan, sometimes stretching as early as 100,000 km. Ignition coils, water pump, and the fuel injection pump (TNVD) are also not known for their high durability.
