Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the BRT engine according to the catalog is 178 kg. The engine number of the BRT is located at the junction of the block with the gearbox. A known issue of the engine is the rapid wear of the oil pump hexagon. The fuel injectors have a decent lifespan of 200 to 250 thousand km, but the replacement is expensive. Additionally, this diesel engine can consume around 1 liter of oil per thousand km of mileage. The turbine geometry often gets stuck due to contamination, resulting in power loss. Another cause of unstable engine performance is a clogged soot filter.
