Engine Overview and Common Failures

The updated aluminum block is also prone to scratches, just like its predecessor. The fuel injectors usually last about 150,000 kilometers and then often leak through the seals. After 200,000 kilometers, wear on the rockers and camshafts is not uncommon. Timing belt gears may require attention at mileage of 250-300 thousand kilometers. Additionally, there is often a leak in the pump or heat exchanger, causing oil to mix with coolant.
