Engine Overview and Common Failures

The aluminum block here is without sleeves, and the coating of the cylinder walls tends to flake off. The pump-injectors and tandem pump often leak through the seals at 150,000 km. Closer to 200,000 km, wear of the rockers and camshaft lobes is frequently encountered. The intake manifold is also characterized by low reliability, as it simply cracks. Additionally, oil may mix with antifreeze due to leaks in the pump and heat exchanger.
