Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the KF-ZE engine is 175 kg (including attachments). The engine number for the KF-ZE is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. Motors of this series are considered reliable, but the aluminum block is sensitive to overheating. Owners often complain about high oil consumption, sometimes reaching up to one liter per 1000 km. On long distances, lubrication can also leak from under the valve covers. The timing belt lasts approximately 80,000 km, but in case of a break, the valves usually do not get bent. Cheap lubricants can cause hydraulic lifters to fail as early as 50-70 thousand km.
