Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the L813 engine according to the catalogue is 125 kg. The engine number L813 is located at the back, at the junction of the engine and gearbox. The main complaints are related to unstable RPMs, which are difficult to get rid of. Updating the control unit firmware, cleaning or modifying the throttle assembly can help. Weak points also include the thermostat, water pump, generator, and the right motor mount. Oil often leaks from under the valve cover and goes straight into the spark plug wells. Since there are no hydraulic lash adjusters, it is necessary to adjust the valves every 100,000 km.
