Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the ZJ-VE engine according to the catalog is 103.5 kg. The engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine is quite reliable, the only thing prone to carbon deposits. If neglecting decarbonization, it will start losing power before reaching 100,000 km. Due to throttle or EGR valve contamination, idle speed often fluctuates. The timing chain wears out considerably, but replacement is complex, as the windshield needs to be removed. Don't forget to adjust the valves every 90,000 km, there are no hydraulic compensators.
