Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the Mazda Z6 engine according to the catalog is 131.2 kg. The engine number Z6 is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. In the early years of production, there were often leaks and the intake valves would start rattling. There are relatively few engine supports here, which leads to strong vibrations. The main cause of fluctuating RPM is throttle or EGR contamination. A blown intake manifold gasket can also be the culprit for loss of power. There are no hydraulic compensators, so it is necessary to adjust the valves every 100,000 km.
