Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the LF17 engine according to the catalog is 125 kg. The LF17 engine number is located at the back, at the junction of the engine and gearbox. In the early years, the throttle valves in the intake manifold often got stuck or even fell out. Dirty throttle or EGR is the main cause of fluctuating RPM. The thermostat, water pump, and engine mounts here do not have the highest lifespan. After 200-250 thousand km, oil consumption and timing chain stretching are very common issues. There are no hydraulic compensators here, so the valves need to be adjusted every 100,000 km.
