Engine Overview and Common Failures

These are quite reliable units and problems only occur on high mileage. Due to the attachment of the pump-injector with a single bolt, over time they lose their tightness. The culprit of power failures is often a stuck turbine geometry. Another cause of unstable engine operation is often a clogged DPF. Saving on oil leads to wear of camshafts and hydraulic compensators.
