Engine Overview and Common Failures

The units of this series appeared not long ago and their breakdown statistics have not yet been collected. In engines before 2017, timing chains were quickly stretched, but then the design was changed. Idle speed often fluctuates due to a malfunctioning tank ventilation valve. After 100,000 km, oil control valve seals usually harden and oil consumption appears. On high mileage, failures of the Valvetronic system and Vanos phaser regulators occur.
