Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EW10A engine according to the catalog is 135 kg. The engine number EW10A is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. The most common problems with the engine are related to oil consumption and lubricant leaks. Injectors quickly clog up due to poor fuel quality, causing spark plugs to deteriorate and coils to burn out. Dirty throttle valve and EGR valve are often the cause of unstable RPM. Usually, the knocking sound under the hood is caused by worn hydraulic lifters, which require frequent oil changes. The main reason for strong vibrations of this power unit is the critical wear of its mounts.
