Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the B6-DE engine according to the catalog is 140.5 kg. The engine number B6-DE is located at the junction of the block with the gearbox. This engine is considered reliable, but often consumes oil after 150,000 km. Additionally, hydraulic compensators quickly fail here due to poor lubrication. Another weak point of the engine is the reduction valve of the oil pump. According to the regulations, the timing belt is replaced every 60,000 km, but it does not bend in case of valve breakage. The remaining power unit problems are most often related to the ignition system.
