Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the Mazda FE engine according to the catalog is 164.3 kg. The Mazda FE engine number is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. Carbureted versions are difficult to adjust, you will need a knowledgeable specialist. Injector versions of this engine have many problems with the ignition system. After 200,000 km, oil control rings often become clogged and lubricant consumption increases. The timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 km according to the schedule, but it does not bend with a valve break. There are no hydraulic compensators, and valve adjustment is required every 60-80 thousand km.
