Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the ZY-VE engine according to the catalog is 117.9 kg. The engine number ZY-VE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The main problem of the unit is its tendency to accelerated carbon build-up. Without regular decarbonization, the engine will begin to noticeably lose power already at 100,000 km. The main cause of fluctuating RPMs is also the throttle and EGR contamination. The timing chain has a good lifespan, but replacement is expensive as it requires removing the windshield. Valve clearance adjustment is done every 100,000 km, and there are no hydraulic compensators.
