Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the RF7J engine is 197 kg (with attachments). The RF7J engine number is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. The most common problems are leaks of sealing washers under the injectors, and often there are leaks in the injector return, which leads to mixing of oil with fuel. The main source of oil leaks is cracks in the intercooler flanges. During the regeneration of the diesel particulate filter, diesel fuel can also enter the oil. Other weak points of the engine include the SCV valve in the fuel injection pump, vacuum pump, and EGR valve.
