Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the R2AA engine is 202 kg (with attachments). The engine number R2AA is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. The most well-known problem is the increase in oil level after burning the particulate filter. The failure of seal rings under the injectors with gas breakthrough is also common. The timing chain can stretch up to 100,000 km, and valve jumping can occur. Weak points also include the SCV valve in the fuel injection pump and the position sensor in the turbocharger. Valve adjustment using special screws is required every 100,000 km.
