Engine Overview and Common Failures

The worthy successor of the 2E engine is also reliable and rarely bothers its owners. Most engine problems are caused by ignition system failures. The remaining breakdowns are usually related to electrical issues, such as malfunctions of the CKP sensor, IAC valve, and EGR valve. The timing belt lasts about 90,000 km, but in case of its failure, the valves almost never bend. Closer to 250,000 km mileage, piston rings often start to wear out and oil consumption increases.
