Oil consumption: Complaints about oil consumption are often found on forums. The usual cause is severe wear of the oil control caps and piston rings, or a clogged crankcase ventilation system. Engine overheating: Almost all remaining problems are somehow related to engine overheating after the failure of the thermostat, water pump, or cooling fan. Their lifespan is short. Other problems: It is also worth noting frequent leaks from the valve cover, rear crankshaft seal, and the not very durable timing chain, sometimes requiring replacement at 100,000 km mileage.
