Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine weight of 3NR-FE according to the catalog is 95 kg. The engine number 3NR-FE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Some owners complain about slight oil consumption from the first kilometers. There are constant noises and knocks coming from under the hood, especially from the VVT-i couplings. The water pump and individual ignition coils have a limited lifespan. The power unit is prone to quick carbon buildup, thanks to the EGR valve.
