Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the CY-DE engine according to the catalog is 180 kg. The engine number CY-DE is located at the junction with the gearbox. The main problem of all Cyclone engines is the short-lived water pump. Even on short distances, it can leak and cause coolant to mix with lubricant. Moreover, the pump is driven by the timing chain, and its failure usually leads to expensive repairs. However, it is otherwise a reliable power unit with a lifespan of over 300,000 km. But it does not tolerate low-quality fuel: lambda sensors and catalytic converters will burn out from it.
